St. Moritz: Snow, Cars, and Negronis
It all started on a rainy morning in Barcelona. The Scuderia Sette team boarded a flight to Milan, excited for a weekend of frozen lakes and classic cars at The ICE St. Moritz 2024. Little did we know, the adventure was just beginning.
Upon landing in Milan, we were greeted by relentless rain. Thankfully, our Paddock Jacket and Weekend Racing Duffle kept us dry. The drive to St. Moritz was breathtaking, winding through Lake Como under constant rain. But as we climbed higher, the rain turned into a heavy snowstorm. We pulled over, fitted the snow chains, and pushed on, arriving at our hotel just as the roads were closed.
Saturday morning, the big day had arrived. Except, the event didn’t. Over two meters of snow had fallen overnight, completely burying our car and canceling The ICE St. Moritz. We’d come all this way from Barcelona – now what?
After some quick thinking, we found alternative events to attend. Our first stop was an indoor parking lot, where the Concours d’Elegance cars were stored, safe from the blizzard. Seeing those pristine machines up close was a win, even if we didn’t get to see them on the frozen lake.
Next, we headed to the Aston Martin event at Suvretta House. Imagine a James Bond Spectre prototype surrounded by snow, an ice bar serving Negronis, and a classic Aston Martin parked against a backdrop of falling snow. It wasn’t what we planned, but it turned out to be unforgettable. We even mingled with familiar faces like Riley Harper, Ted Gushue, and Duccio Lopresto, all in good spirits despite the cancellations.
We ended the day with dinner and the legendary party at Badrutt’s Palace. The snow may have buried the cars, but the energy of the event remained. Cars drifted in the snow, and everyone who braved the weather was there, making the most of the weekend.
The St. Moritz Edition? It’s made for moments like these – when plans change, but you stay sharp, look good, and embrace the chaos.
Stay stylish,
Sette Team 🏁
